beautiful day in the neighborhood
02.24.02 - 11:18 p.m.

today was a good day. an incredibly pleasant day in fact. all sunshine and chirping birds. and i was in an excellent mood even.

i sat outside and read "high fidelity" for a while. then i walked down to the gas station to grab a cup of coffee and a paper from Cute Gas Station Girl who was working today.

the animal control lady who bitched at me to go to the other side of the street, didn't even upset me. i just smiled at her went to the other side of the road, bopping my head along to the song playing in my head.

i came home, drank coffee, and alternated between checking the classifieds and watching my cats play in my room and attack my shoelaces.

i went in the back room upstairs, put No Doubt's self titled in the tape deck, and painted for at least a good three hours. and even though the windows were stuck and i'm kinda woozy from all the paint fumes and i have paint all over my shirt and pants, i'm still in a damn fine mood.

mom and i decided that we're going out to breakfast tuesday morning, then shopping so i can buy some pants. i'm even going to buy a brand spankin' new pair, since i haven't had luck at thrift stores.

and you know what? on friday, i think i'm gonna ask kelly out for coffee. i'm asking on friday because we have religious history together, and thats the only day of the week it meets. granted, i have no idea if she is gay, but whats that worst that could happen? she says no. oh well then. i see her once a week, and we don't even sit near each other in class, i sit in the back and she sits in the front.

you remember when in grade school, you'd have a friend give a note to someone you liked, and it read "do you like so-and-so? mark 'yes' or 'no'." things were so much easier then.
