jury duty: day 2
08.28.02 - 11:57 a.m.

i had jury duty again today. we went. we sat. finally, we went in the court room and went through the juror picking process.

well, i was there for a little bit. until i was kindly asked to leave.

sadly, it didn't involve me yelling "Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"* while being dragged out of the courtroom by the baliff.

* oh, those monty python references. how they make me snicker.

but yes. i got kicked off of the juror bench. i'm not sure why though. the guy nex to be was excused because he's an ex-felon, and the lady who replaced him was excused because she said she wouldn't be able to have an open mind (her nephew was wrongfuly arrested, and had to go to court, etc). the lady and i were excused at the same time. we tried to figure out why i was let go, but it didn't work.

i told mom, and she said its probably because i "look like a druggie". well.. yes, that wouldn't surprise me. they could have at least told me a reason though.

however, if i was still stuck in the courtroom, i may never have talked to that really cute girl who was at the court house because she got arrested.

apparently, when a cop is arresting you and you say "please don't arrest me", that's considered resisting arrest. what a bunk-ass system.
