jury duty: day 1
08.27.02 - 7:05 p.m.

i just woke up from a 3 hour nap. wee!

anyway. so i went in for my jury duty for today. there was much sitting around the jury assembly room. and watching a movie i'm pretty sure i watched in middle school. "cornerstone of a democracy." it was horrible. there was much eye-rolling and snickering going on by my part.

so we watched that movie, then betty (the jury head honcho selector person lady thing. or something. she has a title. something.), talked and then she left. so there were 43 of us sitting there in this room. talking, reading, etc. damn was that room cold. betty came back, talked somemore, and then left to see what the status was with the case.

that was about 9:20.

about 9:21 is when i fell asleep.

when i woke up, betty was back, told us the guy pleaded and that we could go home, but be sure to call the jury line after 5pm. of course. how could i forget?

and then we left. i got home about 10:20, and since its about a 15 minute walk (or more, depending on the amount of traffic on M66), i slept for about 40 minutes.

that's me, doing my "patrotic" duty: sleeping in the jury room.

[side note: my panel gets to go in tomorrow. oh, imagine my happiness.. ]
